I tried this for the first time when College Daughter (Libby) had her wisdom teeth all cut out during her spring break and was ready for her first meal. I apologize for letting them get too dark. I literally had too many pans in the fire! ...but you get the idea. I kept thinking that I would do this again for better pictures but that hasn't yet happened.
Thanks to Cathe Holden at Family Economics for this delightful idea! There were no photos, but that's where I found these instructions... Use a Ziploc® bag to create happy pancakes for breakfast. Pour a small amount of pancake batter into a plastic Ziploc® bag and trim a small section from the corner. With skillet oiled and hot, draw a happy face or message or name, (if you can write backwards!) onto the center of the skillet. Allow the design to heat and brown just a bit before covering the entire design with more batter to form the pancake. Once the pancake is flipped, the precooked design or message will appear darker than the surface of the rest of the pancake to the delight of your breakfast crowd.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter!!
Super cute and fun! Thanks for visiting my blog.
I've tried making funny pancakes by putting them pancake batter in a squeeze bottle (like and old ketchup bottle) and then "drawing" on a hot skillet. Fun!
How fun are these!! Will have to make some soon!!
Blessings~
PS Did you know that someone has invented pancake batter in a can like the spray whipped cream? I think that would be great, but haven't seen it in our area yet.
Blessings~
These are very cute. I made the bitty one Mickey Mouse ones one time. I say one time cause when I made them for her, she wanted me to make Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto too. Yeesh!

Well, now THAT is just super fun! Although...I have a hard enough time getting things to TASTE good never mind look cute! LOL!
My family would be lucky to get homemade pancakes much less designer ones! Maybe I will be nice and try to make them sometime. : )
Awesome pancakes! I'll definitely try this-- we are serious pancake eaters in this house. Thanks a bunch!
Hi Mary Beth, so glad you came by this evening, your post reminds me of when I used to make pancakes every Sat. morning for my girls and their friends. I'd make them "mousecakes" that had ears like Mickey Mouse. They were a huge hit! Hadn't thought about that for awhile. You and I like to cook with "a lot of love in it"! Did you know I'm a follower of YOU? Loved that flower necklace in your last post!
hugs,
Debra
Now you've made me hungry as well as left me smiling at these cute pancakes!
So glad you liked the bunnies at Meadowsweet Cottage--the colored glass ones are some of my favs too!
