We keep Grandson after school until Oldest Daughter gets here from work (over an hour away in Atlanta, poor baby). Grandaddy picks him up from school and is interrogated all the way here about what we're having for supper and what we have for his snack today. (...a chef in the making?) Well, he comes in the door on this day and...
I'm in the kitchen wiping down the counters (again.). I hear the door slam and his heavy bookbag drop to the wooden den floor. He hollers into the kitchen saying, "Grandmama, Git out the strawberry powder. Grandaddy got some strawberries!!!" Gotta love him and those boy hands dipping into the confectioners suger with at least 12 hangnails on each finger. Next week, I'll take him to the pick-your-own patch. xoxo

So cute! My kids love love love strawberries! I can't keep them in the house. They love to go to the local orchard and pick them also. I have never tried them with powdered sugar though. Will have to do that.

Ok-I am sure that you have tried this-but if you dip your berries in sour cream and then brown sugar! YUMMMY! My kids inhale this! (me too) Try it-you will love it!!
It is unfortunate your daughter has to drive so far, but your Grandson is lucky to get so much time with his grandparents :)
Don't you just love that ATL traffic! ugh. I'm south of the city and dread having to go into the city just bc the traffic is always a nightmare! Good treat for the grandson!

Nothin' more satisfying than a sweet strawberry that leaves a white powdered mustache!
And got a hoot out of the peeps show! Those naughty chicks in the front row sure got a cotton tail eye full.
Thanks for stopping by to dream a little with me today.
Cheers ;-)
Hi Mary Beth, thanks for you visit. I had to come back and make sure I became a follower. Your such a sweet grandma. So you are from Georgia. I should have recognized the style on your boarder. Very southern. We use to live in Macon Georgia for 3 years. My husband went to Walter F. George Law School at Mercer University. We had 3 children and lived in Married Student Housing. I love the South. We go back to visit on our way to Savannah when ever we can. We want to go back real soon.
I'll be back.

My little 3 year old grandson loves strawberries but will not eat them with sugar! He also doesn't like chocolate! I kid my son that Aden missed my genes somehow. I grew up near Plant City, Fl which is the strawberry capital. Fond memories of picking strawberries with my mom.
Thanks for your visit and sweet comment. I am now your newest follower.
Oh my gosh! This is such a sweet post! I can hardly wait to have a bookbag dropped at my door! I have used regular sugar but never powdered...what a good idea! "Strawberry Powder".....priceless!
The strawberries look yummy! Thanks for stopping by my blog and following. My kids called my Dad, Grandaddy, too :)Not it has been shortened to Grand.

Well Howdy to you. Thanks for joining me on my fun little blogging journey. I see that you are having quite a bit of fun yourself on your blog. I love the post with the peeps. I mean really love the post. That took some creativity. I see that you join some lovely parties each week and I would suggest that you join Tuesdays at the Table for a posting a recipe each week. You have some fun foods. So nice to meet you.
So sweet! I haven't introduced my boys to strawberry powder yet because they'll still eat them without it :). I plan to take my guys strawberry picking in a few weeks. It's an annual tradition! What wonderful memory making moments :).
You are so blessed to have your little grandson so close! I just bought some strawberries today too -- and I'm thinking of having some dipped in strawberry powder!
Thanks for your kind comment on my blog. You're officially on my blog list!
Those Berries look Yummy ~ I just came from Georgia 2 weeks ago for a visit to My Family, My brother, My Niece & their Families live in Hoschton, My Sister & BIL live in Alpharetta..... Had fun visiting, but the Weather was not very good while I was there, I hear it's All in Bloom now.....

What a great post!! As a momma to three boys, I completely understand their drive for food and of course can relate to those lovely, lovely fingers.:) Oh, how far I've fallen!! I would love to become your follower, you know, we are moving back to Georgia in 9 weeks. I was born and raised there and have been away for 22 years and am beyond thrilled to finally be going home!! Thanks for visiting The Tattered Tassel.
Gotta git me some strawberry powder too!! That is so cute! That phrase will be repeated in your family for years. How sweet and perfectly precious!!

Hi Mary Beth,
My 5 year old is just the same when he comes home from school! They are so sweet and comical at this age!
I love your blog site and your post about the "peep show" is hilarious. It made me laugh out loud!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog, 15 Bella Vie, and becoming a new friend! I love meeting new blogger friends!!
Take care.
Sincerely,
Melinda
Isn't it funny how kids seem to be starving as soon as school lets out?! My 3 always walk in and say,"What's there to eat?"...as if it's a different house than the one they left 6 hours earlier!I'm sure Granddad treasures that ride home and all the man to man conversations it allows:)
yum. yum. yum!!
